I am pleased to take this opportunity to welcome you to West Shore Jr/Sr High School’s website. Although our website serves as a comprehensive source of information to all of our stakeholders I wish to add that it is a work in progress. Many changes in scheduling and staffing occur on a fairly frequent basis thus maintaining the site with the most up to date information can prove a bit challenging. West Shore was established in 1998 as Brevard County’s first School of Choice and is very well known for being a rigorous college preparatory secondary school serving students in grades 7-12. Our physical plant is located in Melbourne, Florida in a facility that was once Eau Gallie Jr High School and then Central Jr. High school; eventually becoming West Shore Jr/Sr High School in the Fall of 1998. Our school is consistently recognized by leading periodicals (US NEWS and World Reports, Newsweek, and Washington Post) as ranking in the top 50 high schools in the country out of over 28,000 nationwide. In 2004, 2012, and 2018 West Shore was recognized by the U.S. Department of Education as a National Blue Ribbon School of Excellence which is an award bestowed upon only a few schools nationwide each year. Our motto is “Excellence Achieved” and our students and staff each day work to maintain or exceed the high standards set before them. 

As Principal, I am charged with the responsibility of fostering a high quality, challenging, enriching environment for all students and I take this role very seriously. All in our school community are considered part of the Wildcat Nation and our family atmosphere truly epitomizes the perfect educational environment.
